Podcast: Political Commentary After Blair
On Tuesday I took part in an Editorial Intelligence Debate chaired by Adam Boulton on political commentary after Blair. They've now released it as a Podcast. Very interesting discussion. I suggest that blogs and instant opinion are something that newspapers and politicians are going to have to adapt. Trends are very difficult to halt once they gather pace.

The questions I have about politicians` words and deeds is "Do they stand the test of public scrutiny?". There is a widespread view today that they do not. For me the history of the Blair government, as well as recent events, reinforce this view.

One blogger who is far better value than some paid MSM columnists is Richard North.
His article here on the new seat belt laws demolished what failed to pass even basic standards for journalism.

I think you should highlight this when next asked to air your thought on MSM & the blogosphere, and why people don't trust politicians or the media to tell them the truth.
