Fern Britton Lays into Gordon

I gather Gordon Brown was 'monstered' by Fern Britton this morning on THIS MORNING. Anyone like to put it on YouTube? I am told it deserves a wider airing...

UPDATE: A reader points me to THIS write up by Andy Sparrow on Guardian Online. He writes it up as a bit of a love-in.

If Fern Britton laid into Gordon, the Guardian missed it: see http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2008/may/08/gordonbrown.labour?gusrc=rss&feed=politics

Should we be surprised?

Labour (Old and New) have been getting away with telling barefaced lies for over 10 years.

Does anyone really believe you can get away with that indefinitely? I long ago realised, with some astonishment, that major statements from ministers were a pack of lies. Bald brazen lies.

When the penny drops its inevitable that reaction will be extreme.

Only rising house prices and immigration kept Browns boom going and when that spinning top fell over people will simply stop believing.

There is an article in todays Telegraph Business which points out businesses are gearing up to leave the UK because they simply do not believe the govts protestations of good intent.

She didn't lay into him very hard!
eg. She accepted his claim that fuel duty has been frozen for years...
You can get the gist from this clip:

Is it my imagination or did the programme go straight into adverts while Gordon was talking - the same as Sky did during the Adam Boulton interview?

In that interview Brown says it was a Brit who invented the iPOD.

Since when did Nationality: American = British?

Brown going on about his shared equity scheme ( ie creation of more clients of the state bribed with other peoples money) is really scarey.

He just doesn't get that asset prices like houses are too high !

Speak up Gordon! Does he think if he keeps his voice down his problems will go away?

Having just watched Brown being well and truly put through the mincer, nicely, by Fern Britton. Copies should be sent to Adam Boulton and that fellow with specs on the BBC!! with a footnote informing them they could learn a thing or two from Fern.

He cannot answer the question can he!!

This is car-crash television.

As Oscar Wilde said of the death of Little Nell, you'd have to have a heart of stone not to laugh

Being "monstered" by Fern Britton? I'll never hold down a meal again.

On a lighter note, perhaps she reads this blog.

I have to say Fern really surprised me watching that! Blair never used to get that kind of grilling on This Morning.

She seems like she hates him!

If I was Gordon I'd stick to appearing on GmTv that Fiona Philips knows "proper respect" .

Flipping heck, look how ill Brown looks during this social care speech.

He's obviously not sleeping too well these days :)

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH!

Serve you right, Broon, you horrible little creep, now you know a little of how millions of us have felt during the past decade.

I didn't sleep well for years thanks to you and I am so enjoying your misery.
